A great celebration should sound like the people in the room. Whether you are planning a Raleigh wedding, a company party in RTP or a birthday in Wake Forest, a little music planning helps your DJ connect the important moments without turning the evening into a rigid playlist.

Start with the feeling you want

Choose three words for your event: relaxed, joyful and lively, for example. Then describe your guests. Will several generations share the dance floor? Is it a workplace celebration where clean versions matter? Are there cultural traditions, family favorites or styles you want represented? Those details are more useful than sending hundreds of songs without context.

Make three short lists

Must-play: choose the songs that truly matter to you, and say why. A meaningful family song deserves different handling from a track you simply enjoy.

Do-not-play: include specific songs, artists or styles you would rather avoid. Explain whether the restriction applies to guest requests too, so the DJ can handle them politely.

Inspiration: share a playlist that captures your taste. Treat it as direction for the evening and leave room for live mixing, transitions and the response of your guests.

Give special moments their own notes

For entrances, a first dance, a parent dance or an awards presentation, write down the exact song and artist, the preferred version and when the music should begin or fade. Include pronunciation notes for names and identify one person who can confirm timeline changes. Coordinate these details with your planner or organizer before the event.

Decide how requests should work

Tell your DJ whether guests may request songs freely, whether requests need approval, and whether clean edits are required. A request is a suggestion; fitting the room, the event and your agreed boundaries still matters. For a company holiday party, separate background music during dinner from the more energetic part of the evening.

Match the package to the event

DJ Cutzzz Ent. currently offers Starter Experience at $650 for up to 3 hours, Essential Experience at $900 for up to 4 hours, Signature Wedding at $1,500 for up to 5 hours and Platinum Wedding at $2,500 for up to 6 hours. Wedding packages include MC services; MC hosting is an optional upgrade for Starter and Essential. Review the package details for lighting, effects, guest-count guidance and optional extras.

Deposits are part of the package payment: $100 for Starter, $250 for Essential and $500 for either wedding package. Ask for the total including your selected upgrades and any additional travel before reserving.
